Glen & Solow spearhead QEII confirmations The two big guns, Gleneagles and Solow, head a list of 12 five-day confirmations for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. Connections of Gleneagles are monitoring ground conditions before deciding to commit the dual 2000 Guineas winner to Europe's richest Group One over a mile. Aidan O'Brien's star three-year-old colt has missed several big engagements since winning the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. "He's in very good form and obviously it's all eyes on the weather," said Kevin Buckley, Coolmore's UK representative. "He'll do another little piece of work in the week - we have our fingers crossed. "There is very little drying going on at Ascot but we hope he shows up." Freddy Head's Solow has been in the form of his life, winning his last eight races, including the Queen Anne Stakes and Sussex Stakes. Andre Fabre has left in Territories, who was runner-up to Gleneagles in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, and Esoterique, winner of the Sun Chariot Stakes at Headquarters earlier this month. Clive Cox has confirmed progressive three-year-old colt Kodi Bear following his victory in Goodwood's Celebration Mile in August. In contrast to the O'Brien team, Cox would be happy with cut in the ground for Kodi Bear. The Lambourn trainer said: "He'll be very much at home on the ground. He's had a nice chance to freshen up from the Celebration Mile. "I've been thrilled with his progress throughout the year, so I'm very much looking forward to Saturday." Completing a high-quality dozen are Cable Bay, Gabrial, Mondialiste, Top Notch Tonto, Belardo, Elm Park and Integral.
