Godolpin Trio To Leave Melbourne Godolphin´s three planned runners in the Emirates Melbourne Cup are to return from Australia, leaving the team without a runner in the big race on November 1. Hopes had been mainly pinned on Fight Your Corner, who suffered a tendon injury in training and was ruled out, while Razkalla was a well-beaten 16th in the Caulfield Cup last weekend. Conditions are expected to be against Fantastic Love, so he will be shipped back too. 'The whole trip to Australia was based on Fight Your Corner, and when he suffered his injury, our plans were scuppered,' Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told the Daily Telegraph. 'Razkalla was disappointing at Caulfield, with his wide draw meaning he just couldn´t get involved without using up an excess amount of energy. 'And Fantastic Love needs soft ground, which it is unlikely he will get in Melbourne this spring. They had supporting roles, but now it is best they all come back home.'(C) PA Sport
