Officials at The Curragh are readying the course for the Derby weekend over the coming week, with a mainly dry and warm weather forecast over the coming days.

The Curragh’s three-day festival runs from June 27 to 29 June, culminating in the Classic on Sunday, with English Derby winner Lambourn expected to line up for the Group 1 race.

At present, the going on the straight course is good to yielding and, on the round course, is good, good to yielding in places. There is a mainly dry and warm forecast over the coming days with temperatures to drop from tomorrow. Showers of 5-10mm of rain are developing on Sunday.

The Group 1 Paddy Power Pretty Polly Stakes is the headline race on Day Two of the festival, with the Dubai Duty Free-sponsored Irish Derby carrying a purse of €1,250,000.
