Going updates for all Irish fixtures this week

Punchestown stages a Flat meeting today before national hunt racing returns next month and following a dry 24 hours, the going at the Kildare track is is now good to yielding, yielding in places, with a mainly dry day forecast.

Similarly at nearby Naas, which races on Thursday, the going is now yielding, although heavy rain tonight (15-20mm) is expected tonight.

Following 7mm of rain yesterday, Downpatrick — which races on Friday, is now yielding, good to yielding in places with an unsettled forecast. Following 3mm of rain overnight Navan, for its Saturday fixture, remains good to yielding with the possibility of 25-35mm of rain throughout the week.

The ground at Gowran, ahead of Saturday’s meeting, is yielding to soft with heavy rain forecast over the coming days.

Listowel’s harvest festival begins on Sunday and following 10mm of rain overnight and 140mm in last two weeks, the going at the Kerry course is currently yielding to soft on the National Hunt track and heavy, soft to heavy in places on the Flat course. There is a possibility of up to 20mm of rain later today.
