Going updates for the Curragh, Killarney & York The ground at the Curragh is good on the straight course and good, good to firm in places on the round track ahead of this afternoon's eight-race card. Racing gets underway at 1:05 PM, with a dry and overcast day forecast for the County Kildare venue. There are two Group 2 races for juveniles up for grabs today, with the first of these being the fillies-only Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes, due off at 2:50 PM. Impressive course and distance maiden winner Alpha is the odds-on 5/6 favourite to win the race named after her mother. The Coolmore City Of Troy Tom Cooper Irish EBF Futurity Stakes is the Group 2 race for colts at 3:25 PM, and the ante-post favourite for the 2027 Epsom Derby, Giant Sequoia, looks to enhance his credentials, but the unbeaten Nola Soul should give him plenty to think about. Also, seven runners go to post for the Group 3 Comer Group International Irish St. Leger Trial Stakes, with Carmers, the Ascot Gold Cup sixth and well-supported 11/8 favourite, being taken on by Kizlyar, who sidestepped today's York Ebor for this contest. There is also a National Hunt fixture at Killarney today, with the going being called good, good to yielding in places, following 1mm of rain. The racing begins at 1:25 PM, and a dry day is forecast, with the temperature in the high teens at the scenic racecourse. The featured Listed Canella Lane Handicap Chase sees Mark Walsh take his first mount for JP McManus since he guided Saratoga to Punchestown Festival glory on May 2nd. He rides Jalila Moriviere, who is the 7/2 favourite, but course specialist Solitary Man could prove hard to beat after bouncing back to form by winning the Midlands National at Kilbeggan, although his no-show in Galway would have to be forgiven. The going at York for the final day of the Ebor Festival has dried slightly since Friday. The official going description is now Good to Soft (Good in places). The weather forecast is for a mainly dry day today in the York area.
