The 2023 renewal of the historic Laytown races takes place on the strand this afternoon with the first of six races off at 4.45pm.

Leading jump jockeys Paul Townend and Rachael Blackmore (three rides) will be amongst those in action along with top amateurs Patrick Mullins and Derek O'Connor.

Following 13mm of rain yesterday which led to soft ground for their jumps card, it's Soft to Heavy at Galway for today's eight-race Flat programme which features the Oyster Stakes.

After a dry night, it's set to be mainly dry today and the first at Ballybrit gets under way at 3.50pm.

Tramore, which has a replacement Flat card tomorrow, missed most of the rain it was predicted to get yesterday with only 1.8mm of rainfall arriving. The ground remains Good and the forecast is for a dry 24 hours. The situation is being monitored in relation to watering.
