Going updates Irish racing has its annual day out on the beach at Laytown this evening with the first of a six race card getting underway at 4.40pm. The action returns to the turf at Down Royal tomorrow where the going is currently decribed as yielding (yielding to soft in places) on the round track and yielding on the sprint track. The quality really goes up a gear at the Curragh on Saturday with two Group 1 events, the Gain Horse Feeds Irish St Leger and the Goffs Vincent O'Brien Stakes (National Stakes). The going at headquarters remains yielding to soft. The weather forecast is generally dry today and tomorrow.
