Goldream aimed at Curragh's Flying Five Robert Cowell will be looking to run Goldream in the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh next month should conditions be quick enough. The Newmarket trainer was delighted with the performance of his King's Stand Stakes winner in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday despite the ground not being in his favour. Goldream was never able to get into a challenging position on the good to soft going as American ace Acapulco blazed a trial before being hauled back by Mecca's Angel and did well in the circumstances to finish fifth. "He's absolutely fine, not a problem at all. His wheels were spinning a little bit coming out of the gates and he didn't quite get the prominent position he would normally have, but he ran on strongly," said Cowell. "I think if he'd been two lengths closer to the speed, he would have finished much closer at the finish. "I think he's run very well on ground that was probably not ideal for him. We were delighted with him. "If the ground was on the good or fast side, the Flying Five would be a likely target. I don't think we're going to get the right ground in the Abbaye (at Longchamp in October). It isn't usually fast for that. "He's a bit limited to what he can go for, but essentially he's in good order and has come out of the race well. That's the main thing."
