Quick Wit gave Godolphin a flying start to Ladbrokes St Leger day at Doncaster with victory in the opening race on the card.

Sheikh Mohammed's operation had three runners in the Harriet Powell Handicap and it was Quick Wit (6-1) who came out on top in the hands of William Buick.

The in-form jockey had a double at the track on Friday and continued his winning streak as he brought the Saeed bin Suroor-trained five-year-old to land the spoils by three-quarters of a length from Anderiego.

Godolphin's Invisible Man, ridden by Frankie Dettori, finished well to take third place just a neck away.

"We'll keep the options open but we know he stays a mile and a quarter so the Cambridgeshire is a possibility," said Bin Suroor.

"This horse has been really well and he likes a strong pace. He will be in our team going to Dubai in the winter."

Paddy Power cut Quick Wit from 25-1 to 20-1 for the Betfred-sponsored Cambridgeshire at Newmarket on September 29.
