Good fare at Thurles tomorrow

The Grade 2 Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle at Thurles tomorrow has attracted a quality eight horse line-up headed by Hidden Cyclone, from the John 'Shark' Hanlon yard, 12 months ago successful with the now-retired Western Leader.

Andrew McNamara will again be aboard Hidden Cyclone and he must concede 2Ibs to his likely chief rival, the Paul Townend ridden Bishopsfurze.

Stylish Clonmel winner Down In Neworleans will have Danny Mullins up again but he won't be able to use his claim in this event.

Bishopsfurze's trainer Willie Mullins also has Skorcher (Emmet Mullins) engaged whilst the field is completed by Crash (Davy Russell), Pineau De Re (Brian O'Connell), Smokey Joe Joe (Paddy Flood) and The Pier (Paul Carberry).

This two and a half mile race is the feature of the seven which gets underway with the Cashel Steeplechase at 1.55.

This is an interesting six runner heat which features Caim Hill (Brian O'Connell), Baltiman (Martin Ferris), In Compliance (Paddy Flood), Northern Alliance (Adrian Heskin), Rock Street (Philip Enright) and Quiscover Fontaine (Paul Townend).
