He’s Gorgeous proved game for Danny Mullins as he repelled the late challenge of On Your Way in the concluding beginners' chase at Clonmel this afternoon.

The Pat Fahy-trained gelding was to the fore throughout in the two-mile-one contest and was asked for an effort running to the second-last.

He got in under the final fence a touch and looked vulnerable as On Your Way closed, but picked up again in good style late on to beat his fellow 4/1 joint favourite by three-parts-of-a-length.

The winner had been runner-up on his chase debut at Wexford in late October.

"He had a lovely first run over fences and everything about this year was great but it had taken two years of nurturing him to get him to where he is now, as he never had muscle on him. Luckily enough, I had the owners who gave me the time,” said Fahy.

"He started thriving towards the end of last year and the whole plan was to go chasing, which has worked out great.

“He handles heavy, we know he can go on good ground and I'll have him well entered up for Christmas, where he'll probably run at Leopardstown.

"George (Moore) couldn't make his way over from Cardiff last night as there were floods on the motorway. I'm raging, as he is very loyal and without those lads, small trainers wouldn't survive. I couldn't survive without the likes of George and Ray Minion (joint-owner)."
