Gosden Satisfied With Ground

John Gosden believes the turf course at Churchill Downs should suit the majority of runners at the Breeders' Cup meeting.

Gosden sends out Sleeping Indian in the Mile and he conducted a thorough examination of the ground after supervising his big-race runner in a spin yesterday morning.

The five-year-old is facing a big step up after winning Newmarket's Challenge Stakes last time and Gosden does not expect him to be inconvenienced by conditions

He said: 'The turf was riding good and I think tomorrow it will be a fraction on the firm side.

'The people here have done a nice job and I think the ground has come back very well in time for the big day. It's certainly improved dramatically since Thursday.

'The ground conditions are there to suit all. I think in the race you need to break well and hold your position and wait for the race to develop.'
