Gowran kick-starts Graded jumps action The National Hunt season certainly goes up a gear in the next few days with a two-day meeting at Gowran Park featuring the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase and a trio of Grade 3 races at Tipperary on Sunday. There are two Listed races at Gowran this afternoon with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Pat Walsh Memorial Mares Hurdle and the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mucklemeg Mares Flat Race. Following 8mm of rain overnight the going on the hurdle course is heavy, while it is heavy, soft in places, on the chase course. The forecast is mainly dry today with rain expected overnight up to 10mm. The first on a seven-race card at Gowran gets underway at 2.05. The Friday evening action continues at Dundalk with the Listed Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Diamond Stakes and an eight-race card begins at 4.35.
