Griffin dreaming of Grade 1 glory with Dingle ‘The dream is still alive’ with Ol Man Dingle as Eoin Griffin prepares to saddle him in the Bar 1 Betting Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse on Sunday. The Ol’ Man River gelding steps into Grade 1 company at the weekend after winning his first two starts over fences. His latest success came in a Grade 3 contest at Cork at the start of the month and he is a 6/1 shot to land his chasing hat-trick, at the highest level. Small yard excitement ahead of Grade 1 test “The dream is still alive with him. How far he is going to bring us, I don’t know,” Griffin told Dave Keena. “Ricky came in after riding him in Cork and said ‘I don’t know where the ceiling is but we haven’t reached it yet’. “It’s great for a yard my size to have something like that to look forward to. It’s a long time since we had a graded horse in the yard. “The last graded novice winner I had was St Devote back in 2011. “I’m really appreciating it now. The girls in the yard have never had a good horse like that and it’s a real morale boost.”
