Grimthorpe considers 'dream mating' Teddy Grimthorpe believes a meeting between Frankel and the recently-retired Black Caviar would be "a dream". Grimthorpe, who is racing manager to Frankel's owner Khalid Abdullah, knows exactly what Black Caviar's connections have been through plotting an unbeaten career and choosing the right time to retire. Whether the unbeaten duo ever meet in the breeding sheds has still to be decided, but Grimthorpe is keen on the idea. "As far as I know they haven't been in touch, but I just deal with the racing and Philip Mitchell looks after the breeding side," Grimthorpe told At The Races. "I would think they'll have to work out the plan of what they want to do and think about how they are going to mate her. "Obviously a mating with Frankel would be a dream mating, but that would be entirely up to them. "It's a very hard thing to let go when you are enjoying it and the horse seemed to be in fantastic form - she won really well at Randwick the other day. "Sometimes we can ask too much of horses and I thought it was an excellent decision, made in the best interests of the horse. "It's a great cliche to say she's done everything they've asked of her, but that really is true."
