Lennon Grove went one better back at Thurles when landing the concluding bumper today under Derek O’Connor.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained daughter of Walk In The Park had chased home The First Turn here in late October and went to post a 7/2 shot this afternoon.

She hit the front a furlong-and-a-half out and, despite drifting a bit left inside the final furlong, found plenty late on to record a half-length win over 13/8 favourite Fastnet Crystal

O’Connor had trained the four-year-old to win her point-to-point at Loughanmore back in April.

"She is a quick mare, they sprinted today, and she has loads of gears and stayed going really well. It was a nice performance," said Cromwell.

"Derek had her for point-to-points, so thanks to him, as he recommended that we got her for the track and I'm delighted for the owners (Silverpark Racing Partnership).

"We might go straight over hurdles now, she jumps really well and I'd say she will settle better over hurdles as well."
