Michael Halford is hoping Mizzava can build on her maiden success when she takes her chance in the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday.

Should she perform with credit then Halford is likely to let her go for Classic glory in the Etihad Airways Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh in two weeks' time.

The Halford camp were pleased with her effort in beating Aidan O'Brien's representative Hanky Panky at Limerick a month ago.

"She's just had the one run this year and was impressive winning her maiden," said the County Kildare trainer.

"She will have to come forward a good bit from that. On ratings she has a good bit to do, but she's progressive, I'm happy with her and she's come on well for her first outing.

"We're hopeful but Jim Bolger's filly (We'll Go Walking) and Dermot Weld's horse (Rawaaq) will be hard to beat.

"We have her in the Guineas and we're hoping maybe she'll put up a good show on Sunday then we'll let her take her chance there."
