Connections of Harbour Law report the 2016 St Leger hero on the road to recovery from a tendon injury that has kept him off the track since last year’s Gold Cup at Royal Ascot when he was third to Big Orange.

While owners Nick and Jackie Cornwell have set no time-scale as to when he might return to the racecourse, they admit that "things are looking very promising".

"He's looking magnificent and is in great spirits," said Nick Cornwell.

"He's spent nine months at our place and he’s been on a pre-training regimen for the last four months.

"We’re doing as much road-work as we can with him as we build up to hopefully getting him back.

"It’s difficult to say a time-frame when he might return. The horse comes first, and we will give him as much time as he needs.

"We haven’t looked any further than getting his injury back to some sort of normality, and to ensure that he’s back and healthy.

"We haven’t decided any further than the advice on the veterinary procedures.

"I would say the horse has blossomed. He’s only five, is a full horse, and has no miles on the clock.

"So far, touching timber, things are looking very promising."
