Harry's Bar all set for Lingfield on Friday Ado McGuinness will seek further big race glory at Lingfield on Friday when Harry’s Bar will line-up for the Betway All-Weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes. The six-year-old gelding has won twice since joining the Lusk trainer from James Fanshawe last autumn including the Listed Belgrave Stakes at Dundalk. Hollie Doyle has been booked to ride the son of Exceed And Excel and McGuinness reports him in good form ahead of the six-furlong test. “I’m very happy with him. He’s going over on Wednesday and fingers crossed he’ll run a nice race. “We ran him again at Dundalk earlier this month over a mile as he needed another run to get qualified. “I have been very happy with his progress since. He worked last week in Dundalk and his rider Ian Brennan was very, very happy. “Harry’s Bar is a real All-Weather specialist and in his two runs for us at Dundalk over six furlongs, he has been magic. “On a good, sound surface, he is very good. We think he will run a big race.” McGuinness enjoyed his best ever season in 2020 with a string of victories both in Premier Handicaps and Stakes races and started off this year with a valuable win for Bowerman in Doha. “Bowerman is in the Alleged and has an entry in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. I’m not saying he’s a Group 1 horse but you never know how the race might break up. “I’m also looking at races for him and Saltonstall in Sweden and Norway, June and July, and we are looking at going to Turkey in September. “If you have a hundred grand race here you have to meet Ballydoyle and the likes of them and a 120 plus (rated) horse but abroad it’s not like that so you have a chance of picking up a good pot of money. “It makes sense. Okay you have to travel and it’s not easy but I’m getting to like travelling!” Current Option was another to fly the flag for the yard last year winning the valuable Ahonoora Handicap at the Galway Festival plus two Stakes races, notably the Group 3 Concorde Stakes at Tipperary. The five-year-old son of Camelot will probably start off this season in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on April 17. A Case Of You, who landed the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes last year for John McConnell, is a new addition to the team and has already won a conditions race at Dundalk. “A Case Of You will run in the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown. He’s in great form and will improve for his win at Dundalk. “He’s entered in the German Guineas and the English Guineas. We’ll get the Guineas Trial out of the way first and if he runs well then we’ll probably look at Germany.”
