Harty looking to next season for Harvard Guy Trainer Eddie Harty is already looking towards next season for his Harvard Gut which this season has won three of his four races and remains a promising chasing prospect for next term. The J.P. McManus-owned six-year-old won three consecutive handicap hurdles in November, December and January - with the latest two being achieved at Listed level, but the trainer was left frustrated by a recent Clonmel defeat at Grade 3 level in the Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle on February 15. Harty reports “it was a mess of a race the last day in Clonmel. It ended up being a two-furlong sprint and in a case like that, he who sprints first wins (Search For Glory). “He’s achieved a lot and has done more this season than most horses do in a lifetime. “He’s a chaser in the making. I wouldn’t be concerned if he didn’t run again and we could give him a long break and go chasing next season.” Quotes from Alan Magee
