Hennessy May Come Too Soon For Kandjar

Wiltshire trainer Alan King has warned punters not to rush to back Kandjar d´Allier for the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup after the gelding´s pleasing comeback effort behind Our Vic at Cheltenham.

Kandjar d´Allier was doing his best work at the finish to claim third place, four lengths behind the Paddy Power Gold Cup winner but King is mindful of the fact the Hennessy is a week on Saturday.

He said: 'At this stage I really have no idea where he will go next. There is of course the Hennessy as well as the Rehearsal Chase up at Newcastle. A third option is to wait for the next Cheltenham meeting in December.

'It would be nice to think he could go to Newbury for the Hennessy but a fortnight doesn´t give me that much time and we´ll have to see.'
