High Definition in good form after Dante third Aidan O’Brien reports High Definition in good form following his promising third in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes at York last Thursday. The Galileo colt missed an engagement in the Derby Trial at Lingfield the previous weekend due to an unsatisfactory blood count and instead reappeared five days later at the Knavesmire. Unbeaten in two starts as a juvenile including the Group 2 Alan Smurfit Memorial Beresford Stakes at the Curragh, he kept on from off the pace to finish within two lengths of Hurricane Lane. “High Definition is in good form. I was very happy with him in York and he hasn’t done much since. Four days before he wasn’t going to run and he’ll come forward plenty,” said O’Brien. “We always give them ten days to two weeks to get back into full work and then see where they are. Ryan was very happy with him. “The pace died a bit in the middle at York and it might have suited if it had stayed strong.” High Definition is generally 9/2 second favourite for the Cazoo Derby behind stablemate Bolshoi Ballet.
