High-profile bumper horse for Listowel

Uponthe Hoof certainly takes the eye amongst the entries for the bumper at Listowel next Monday as the Tom Taaffe-trained four-year-old is owned by star golfer Lee Westwood, his manager Andrew 'Chubby' Chandler and Northern Ireland man Graham Keys.

The latter enjoyed success with the Taaffe-trained pair Shindig and Oxybau in recent years whilst Chandler and Westwood have been operating at a high level in the ownership stakes lately with Hoof It.

That Monsieur Bond gelding won the Sky Bet Dash Handicap at York and followed up in the Blue Square Stewards' Cup at Goodwood. Last Saturday he was unfortunate at Haydock not to make the Group 1 breakthrough when very narrowly defeated in the Betfred Sprint Cup.

Chandler is on record as saying: "Hoof It has been brilliant for us. It's what owning a horse is all about. He is a real trier."

Chandler also mentioned on Twitter: "Apparently he's (Uponthe Hoof) decent and I love to have a runner or two. I'm afraid I can't be there (at Listowel on Monday)."

Apparently depending on decent ground Uponthe Hoof is an intended runner at Listowel and he is described as promising.
