Illusion Still Hennessy Bound Lord Of Illusion remains on course for the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on November 26 despite a heavy defeat at Cheltenham last week. The eight-year-old, a winner of five chases, was pulled up in the hurdle race won by Water King on his first start since January. 'I can´t say I was delighted by his run over hurdles at Cheltenham but he definitely needed it and you can see by looking at him how much good it has done him,' trainer Tom George said. 'He´s quite a tall, angular horse and quite thick-winded and it will have done him the world of good. 'The ground was too soft for him at Cheltenham anyway. He needs genuinely good ground. 'The plan is to go for the Hennessy, provided he works well over, but we wouldn´t go there if the ground came up soft.'(C) PA Sport
