A winner over fences at the corresponding meeting last year, the Alexander Burke-Ott trained Inchidaly Copper exploited a lower rating over flights to land the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle at Killarney.

Mid division under Luke Burke-Ott in the early stages, the 7/1 chance was pushed along in third entering the straight.

Moving second in pursuit of Miss Lia at the penultimate flight, the gelding threw down a strong challenge at the last.

Despite Miss Lia getting away from that flight the quicker, Inchidaly Copper rallied on the run-in to get up close home to score by half-a-length.

Luke Burke-Ott said: "We were thinking he was well handicapped over hurdles for a long time and every day we went out we fancied him, but he has been unlucky. He had won here last year over a similar trip so today's race should have suited.

"He is a great horse and has now won nine races between the track and point to points. We are very lucky to have him and put the blinkers on him to keep him focusses, but he is genuine.

"We had two runners in the point to point at Castletown Geoghegan today so my brother Alex went there but unfortunately it didn't work out for him.

"We have 20 horses in and he is the only one for the track. Hopefully after Christmas some out of our five-year-olds can win point to points."
