In-foal Easy has Curragh Oaks weekend options With Juddmonte Irish Oaks weekend at the Curragh very firmly on the horizon, some of the supporting races are also beginning to take shape. Andy Slattery's sprinters Powerful Nation and Easy have options in the Group Two Barberstown Castle Sapphire Stakes on July 19th. Indeed Easy, the Team Valor International LLC & Gary Barber-owned Kodiac mare, could go a little further, over seven furlongs, in the Group Two Romanised Minstrel Stakes the following day. Slattery's brother Brian commented on Easy: "She's in the Sapphire and she's in over seven furlongs (Minstrel Stakes). It will depend on the ground. "She's in great form, she worked on Tuesday and she worked really well. She is flying. "Easy's time is running out now - we only have her until the end of August, she's in foal to Mehmas. "She's very good, but we were just a little bit unlucky as she didn't fully see out the seven (furlongs) in Leopardstown the last day. "Ideally, we are looking for a six furlong Group race for her somewhere." On Powerful Nation, he added: "His aim is the Flying Five and he will go to the Sapphire before then. "They are two exciting horses." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
