Irish youngsters fly the flag in Poland Last year's Gold medal winner, Bertram Allen took the individual show-jumping silver medal at the European pony riders championship in Poland yesterday. Following on from Friday's silver medal team success for Allen, Michael Duffy, Emma O'Dwyer and Max O'Reilly-Hyland, when they missed out narrowly to Britain, Wexford native Bertram Allen, a son of Bert and Geraldine again excelled in the individual stakes on Sunday. Meanwhile the eventing team of Josh Pim (the late David's grand-son and a son of Alistair), Anna O'Brien (Aidan and Annmarie's daughter), Lucy Latta (Andrew's sister, of course he rode the bumper winner at Galway yesterday) and Jodie O'Keeffe took silvers in the European eventing competition. Jodie O'Keeffe also won individual bronze in the eventing. A large band of family and friends travelled to Poland to support the youngsters whilst the experience of Con Power, Sue Shortt and Tom Slattery helped secure the impressive medal haul.
