Italian Hope Flying Ahead Of York Test

Trainer Valfredo Valiani is hoping to land another successful Italian job at York on Tuesday when he saddles Electrocutionist in the Juddmonte International Stakes.

The Pisa-based handler sprang a 25-1 stunner with Super Tassa in the Yorkshire Oaks four years ago but victory for his latest raider would be much more expected.

Electrocutionist is a leading fancy for the extended-10-furlong contest thanks to winning five of his six races including a Group One.

And Valiani has had this race in mind for his latest stable star for some time.

'I´ve thought about this race for him since the end of last year. I´ve been to York before when Super Tassa won the Yorkshire Oaks and the course will be perfect for him. I would just like top of the ground for him,' he said.

'We decided to give him just the two races in Italy and then go to York. He´s settled in well over here and he is a very quiet horse.'
