Jessies to skip Fairyhouse

RSA Chase second Jessies Dream will miss the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse and instead head straight for the Grade 1 Growise Novice Chase at Punchestown on May 3.

Trainer Gordon Elliott had pencilled in a trip to Fairyhouse on Easter weekend for the eight-year-old following his neck second to Bostons Angel at Cheltenham.

However, the County Meath handler has now decided to wait the extra 11 days to give the son of Presenting more time to recover from his Cheltenham exertions.

"He's very well, he'll go for the Grade 1 at Punchestown," Elliott told sportinglife.com.

"He'll miss Fairyhouse, they're close enough together and he had a hard enough race at Cheltenham so we're waiting with him for Punchestown."

Jessies Dream is a 33/1 chance with William Hill for the 2012 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
