Mark Watts is in a stable condition in Naas hospital following a fall at Punchestown on Wednesday.

The conditional suffered 'severe abdominal injuries' when unseated from Galway Light in the handicap chase.

He was taken to Accident and Emergency in Naas and was later transferred to intensive care.

Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Walter Halley yesterday praised the doctors on course and the Order Of Malta ambulance service for their 'quick evacuation from the course.'
