Adam Caffrey and Ado McGuinness sealed their Foxrock double when Johnny Soda won the €25,000 rated race by half a length.

The 4/1 shot followed leader God Of Power through into the home straight and he wore that rival down in the final 150 yards.

As God Of Power gave best in the closing stages, Johnny Soda kept on to score by half a length from Glitter And Glory who finished nicely for second at 7/2.

Johnny Soda doubled his career total having shed his maiden tag in a Cork apprentice handicap in May under Sam Coen.

This race was reduced to five runners due to four defections.

McGuinness said: "We were very, very close to taking him out. Adam got off Goal Exceeded and said 'I wouldn't run that chestnut horse. I think it'll be too quick for him'. We were humming and hawing and, the boys (Go Nutz Racing Syndicate) said that we'd run him and not to punish him if he wasn't handling it. We all got it wrong!

"He is a big horse and he is quite a heavy horse as well. You wouldn't want that type of ground now too often for him. We'll probably get away with it today. Adam was good on him. We said we'd just jump out and we knew there was plenty of pace on and he did that. He picked up well and galloped to the line well.

"I think the likes of Galway could suit this fella. I think there is a nice three-year-old only 0-90 down there and that's probably where he'll head now."

Caffrey and McGuinness were also victorious with Goal Exceeded in race two for Ado McGuinness.
