Journey impresses in Tramore opener The Gavin Cromwell-trained Journey So Far was an emphatic 13-length winner of the opening beginners' chase at Tramore Racecourse this afternoon. The 11/4 favourite, owned by JP McManus, produced a highly impressive display of jumping throughout. Journey So Far moved smoothly into contention before asserting his superiority turning for home. From there, he powered clear of his rivals and was never in danger, stretching away in the closing stages to record a commanding 13-length success. Speaking after the race Jockey Keith Donoghue said “He had the rating over fences, he’s obviously rated higher over fences, and he was coming back into a 0-100 beginners here so it suited. “He’s a big horse but he handled the track well, he did it well. He jumped well and hopefully he can keep improving.”
