Jukebox completes treble for Elliott & double for Gilligan American Jukebox (3/1, from 9s in early shows) completed a double for Danny Gilligan, and made it three on the day for Gordon Elliott, as he ran out an easy winner of the Ryans Cleaning Services Maiden Hurdle at Tramore. Disappointing on his last two starts, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned six-year-old was a different proposition today in first-time cheekpieces. Alternating the lead with 11/8 favourite Did I Ask You That, and not fluent over the second and sixth, the bay victor quickly kicked clear of the market leader from the two-furlong pole and ultimately eased to a 19-length win. Returned a 9/4 chance, Pookie Holler filled the runner-up spot, while the aforementioned Did I Ask You That was another 14 lengths away in third. "The horses are all just in such good form," Ian 'Busty' Amond, representing Elliott, commented. "He had good runs in bumpers, but his last two runs had been disappointing. The cheekpieces probably did help him and he's back to what he showed us in his early days. "He jumped the last like he had plenty left in the tank." Elliott and Gilligan earlier claimed the opener with Stede Bonnet, while the Cullentra handler was also on the mark at Fairyhouse with Spinningayarn. STEWARDS REPORTS * The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Did I Ask You That, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. * The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of American Jukebox, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gordon Elliott stated through his representative that the addition of cheekpieces may have brought about todays' apparent improvement of form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the report given.
