Keane has Lincoln as target for Crystal Black Gerry Keane is eyeing a crack at next season's Lincoln for Irish Champions Festival winner Crystal Black. The five-year-old gelding annexed the €150,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Northfields' Handicap by a length and three-quarters in the Curragh last weekend which put the seal on a campaign where he won twice and was placed in the Irish Cambridgeshire. The trainer said: "We didn't look beyond Sunday and while there was a race for him in Navan, I don't know if he can run with his penalty. That might be it for him this year and he could be one to keep for the Lincoln next year. "I think he is well capable of winning over a mile and he was only beaten two necks (into third) in the Cambridgeshire.  "There was talk, before he won on Sunday, that he could go hurdling and we originally bought him as a dual-purpose horse. He wouldn't want really, really bad ground and after winning a race like that (the Northfields), he'll wait until next year if he does go hurdling." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
