Keatley upbeat despite London defeat An excuse has emerged for the defeat of Adrian Keatley's highly-regarded London Icon on Sunday. The Elzaam colt won on his second start at Naas last season and Keatley hoped he had a smart prospect on his hands. He finished second on his reappearance in the Madrid Handicap, conceding plenty of weight to Dianthus, but Keatley has reported that London Icon was not 100 per cent healthy after the race. "He ran a great race, but he scoped bad after it so he obviously wasn't 100 per cent," said Keatley. "I'll speak to the owners and he might go for something like the Tetrarch Stakes (May 7, Naas) now. "He was giving 16lb to the winner, and it was a good run considering he wasn't fully right."
