Kennedy doubles up on Cailin Jack Kennedy completed a quick double at Thurles this afternoon when top-weight Mi Lucky Cailin ran out a convincing winner of the Killinan Handicap Hurdle. The daughter of Milan led early in the two-and-a-half mile contest before Real Empire went on at halfway. She reclaimed the advantage on the home bend and was sent a few lengths clear by Kennedy running to the last flight. The 15/2 shot kept on strongly on the run-in to record a six-and-a-half length win over Gaelic Des Chastys. Trainer William McLernon, who was saddling his first winner since the same mare won her bumper at Galway in October 2022, said: "She had finished second to some good mares previously, we have her back in form and she was entitled to win that race today. “She loved the ground, and loves work and pleasing you. She is a joy to have and Jack made things easier today. "We have six or eight horse in training, it's not easy but days like today make it fun!" (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
