Kennedy hoping for Delta repeat in Savills Chase Jack Kennedy is hoping for a repeat win on Delta Work in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. The Gigginstown gelding edged out Monalee in a thrilling finish to the Grade 1 contest 12 months ago and has followed a similar route into the race this year. He had bounced back from a disappointing seasonal debut to win last year and was again beaten first time up at Down Royal this term, albeit finishing a close enough fifth to The Storyteller in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase. “He missed a bit of time before Christmas last year following his run at Down Royal,” said Kennedy. “Gordon told me going out that he would come on plenty from it so just to ride him to run well and whatever happens after that is a bonus. “It just goes to show the class the horse has that he was able to go and win it. “I was happy with his run in Down Royal this year. “He needs his first run of the season and I don't think Down Royal suits him either as he likes his own bit of space and it can get very claustrophobic down the back there. “He loves the big galloping track at Leopardstown.”
