Killarney confident of racing tomorrow Killarney are confident of racing going ahead at the track tomorrow following the cancellation of today's meeting. Manager Micheal Lucey said this afternoon that the track is fit for action tomorrow and that he anticipates no problems for Thursday's card. The fixture will have to pass a 8am inspection tomorrow morning but Lucey revealed that dry weather is forecast for the area for the next few days and winds are drying the course at present. “We were unfortunate as the forecast was for 9mm of rain and we got 28 to 30 between last night and this morning which put paid to today,” said Lucey. “It's dry now and there is a good south west breeze. The sun is shining and the rain stopped at 12 o'clock. The forecast for the next six days is for dry weather. “We're fine at the moment to race tomorrow and I'd expect to be okay. We're not anticipating any problems. “One of the reasons we cancelled today was because it was an all-Flat card and we had two and three-year-olds running on it. “If it had been national hunt we probably would have gone ahead as they are better able to plough through it.” Today was due to be the first of a four-day fixture at the Kerry venue. The feature event on day one, the Listed Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes, has been moved to tomorrow's card. HRI are yet to reveal any plans for rescheduling the lost card.
