King pleased to see Thornton back in action Trainer Alan King was delighted to see jockey Robert Thornton return from a lengthy absence with a winner at Stratford on Tuesday. Thornton had been out of action since early March with a badly-broken arm which ruled him out of all the major spring festivals. After extensive physiotherapy, the jockey made a low-key return to the saddle but it had the best possible outcome when the King-trained Letsby Avenue struck in the At The Races On Facebook Handicap Hurdle. The Barbury Castle handler told his website, www.alankingracing.co.uk: "It has been a frustrating summer for 'Choc' (Thornton), but it is good to have him back. "We hoped that Letsby Avenue might do it for him at the first time of asking, but we started to worry when all this rain came. However, the horse is improving, and he won well."
