Florry Knox sprang a 25/1 shock when taking the Jossestown Handicap at Clonmel for Pat Flynn.

The Captain Rio gelding shot came wide in the straight, under Michael Hussey, and threw down a challenge at the furlong pole.

He soon hit the front and kept on well in the closing stages to record a comprehensive three-and-a-quarter-length success over The Fox Tully .

The winner had failed to show much form recently, both on the Flat and over hurdles, having started his career with promise.

"That was great. I thought he'd run well but I didn't expect him to win," said Flynn.

"The other fella ( Captain Baldini who finished 13th) was disappointing.

"I only have him (the winner) a while and he's been with a few different trainers. He was flat to the boards but came right at the end.

"It's a nice win for the owners who are nice people. He'll go for another handicap next."
