Richard Hannon has revealed that Sky Lantern is on track to run in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

It had been mooted that the grey filly could attempt to land a second Classic of the season having already beaten Just The Judge in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket

The race in question was the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly but Hannon has revealed on his website that the Red Clubs filly will, instead, remain over a mile and take up her engagement at Royal Ascot.

Racegoers could be set for a mouthwatering clash on the Friday of the Royal meeting with Newmarket second, Just The Judge who has since gone on to win the Irish 1000 Guineas, also entered for the Group One contest as is Hot Snap.

The latter was sent off as favourite for the first fillies' Classic having impressively beaten Sky Lantern in the Nell Gwyn Stakes but she failed to reproduce that form in the Guineas, eventually trailing home in ninth.
