Lavery looking forward to Story Sheila Lavery was as much as relieved as pleased when Another Story made a belated winning debut at Dundalk. The County Meath trainer had been frustrated trying to get the Rip Van Winkle filly to the races for most of the year but her patience was rewarded when Another Story got off the mark in a six-furlong maiden last month. But even then the race did not go to plan. Slowly away, the youngster had plenty to do two furlongs out and had to be switched before getting up close home for a head victory. Another Story is now finished for the year, but Lavery is hoping things will go smoother in 2016. "She's on a break. She was very impressive because first time out everything that could go wrong did go wrong," she said. "We were only going to run her once and put her away. She'd been in all year but stupid little things had happened so she didn't get out earlier. "She was due a break so it was great she could go on one after that. "We've thought a lot of her from very early doors, but little things kept putting us back. "She doesn't have any smart entries. She's rated 80 so we will start off in her class and hopefully we can then go for some smart races. I'll just let her tell me, really. "Not only did everything go wrong first time, I thought six furlongs was going to be too sharp for her. Seven furlongs or a mile would be more her trip. We should have a lot of options with her. "I just wanted to run her, so I thought I'd run her over six and give her an education. I thought if things go right she'll win, but things went wrong and she won."
