Leopardstown had a generally dry day yesterday leaving the going at the Dublin track described as 'good' ahead of tomorrow's Champion Stakes meeting.

Clerk of the Course Lorcan Wyer this morning reported “the official going is now good and we did selective watering yesterday. Yesterday was one of those dampish misty days when rainfall amount didn't register but it was dampish and in effect the track has regained the moisture lost earlier in the week during that hot spell on Monday and Tuesday.

“The forecast is generally dry with the chance of an occasional shower, mainly today.”

Wyer added “at the Champions Stakes start, at ten furlongs, the stalls will be positioned out wide by the roadside and from the stalls to the point of the bend will be railed. We have been doing it for a number of years and that keeps things in order to the first bend.”
