Leopardstown optimistic for Sunday

Leopardstown are confident Sunday's meeting will survive the current cold-snap.

The card, which features the Hennessy Gold Cup, was originally scheduled for last weekend but was put back seven days because of heavy snow.

Now Leopardstown general manager Tom Burke reports the track to be almost raceable.

"There has been a big improvement and all the snow we had has gone at this stage," he said.

"The ground is heavy but we'd be very close to being raceable at the moment and we are forecast a very dry week so we can't foresee any problems.

"Hopefully we can get the meeting on this week."
