Limerick passed by Turf Club Limerick`s new racecourse was today given the official approval from the Turf Club after the Inspector of Courses, Bill McLernon, passed the track fit for racing.The course at Greenmount Park replaces the old course in the city and brings the number of courses in Ireland back up to 27.The first meeting at the course is scheduled for Sunday October 14th. It is the first new racecourse opened in Ireland since Wexford in 1951.
