Lingfield outing for Jamesie Jamesie continues his busy schedule in the Unibet Golden Rose Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday. The David Marnane-trained gelding turns out just eight days after filling the runner-up spot in a Dundalk handicap and has enjoyed a profitable autumn, with victories at the latter venue and Navan. It will be seven-year-old's first outing at the Surrey track and his trainer is optimistic about another good performance. Marnane said: "Jamesie seems in good form. We're coming to the end of the year, but we're happy with him and looking forward to letting him take his chance. "Six furlongs is fine and I think the track will suit. He was touched off at Galway and has run well at Goodwood, both downhill tracks. "It's great to have Pat Smullen over to ride him and fingers crossed he'll run well." David Lanigan's high-class sprinter Polybius returns to the all-weather in the Listed contest. The four-year-old has enjoyed a fine campaign on turf, beating a strong field in the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket in the summer before finishing a close-up third in the Group Three Bengough Stakes at Ascot in early October. He makes his first appearance on artificial surface since finishing third in this race 12 months ago - a six-furlong contest which acts as a Fast-Track Qualifier for the All-Weather Sprint Championships over the course and distance. Lanigan said: " He seems in very good order and we're hoping to get him qualified for the race on Good Friday. "He has a better draw than he did in this race last year, which is nice, and hopefully he'll run well. "We'll see how he gets on but we'll probably put him away for the year after this." Jeremy Gask reports stable star Medicean Man to be in fine fettle. The nine-year-old has as usual plied his trade in some of the year's most high-profile races, coming agonisingly close to Group One glory when beaten a short-head in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot. "He's in good form and it would be great to see him get his head in front again," said Gask. "Things didn't go to plan at Ascot last time on ground that wasn't to his liking, but we've been happy with him since and I think six furlongs round the bend at Lingfield should be fine. "He wasn't beaten far in this race last year (when fifth) and is probably a bit more forward now than he was then, so fingers crossed." Karl Burke is double-handed with the tough-as-teak Rivellino joined by stable companion Skinny Love. Both horses have good form at the Surrey circuit, but Skinny Love has a mountain to climb on official ratings. "Rivellino is in great form and we know he's well up to this class," said Burke. "We're looking to get him qualified for the race on Good Friday and he should run very well."
