Logic on the comeback trail Defy Logic could be ready to return to action by the end of next month after being sidelined with a leg injury since January 2014. Trainer Paul Nolan reports the talented eight-year-old well on the road to making his comeback since he broke a blood vessel when disappointing in the Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase at Leopardstown. His success in the Grade One Racing Post Novice Chase a month earlier had marked the JP McManus-owned gelding as an exciting prospect. However, all plans had to be put on ice after Defy Logic damaged a suspensory ligament. "We're very pleased with him and hopefully when we get a substantial amount of rain he's not too far away from running," said the County Wexford handler. "We have no real plans yet - depending on the weather we're looking to start him off possibly in late November. "He was doing a lot of swimming and rehabilitation work and he came to us in great form, so basically now we're just getting him fit. "He's very well and hopefully we can keep him in one piece. "He was looked after by the team at Martinstown and came back in tremendous order. There was an awful lot of ground work done. "We are ground dependent and he should be on course towards the end of November. "We'll have a chat with Frank (Berry, owner's racing manager) and see what the best options are when the time comes. "Things are going OK for the moment."
