Lumiere could go straight for Guineas Connections of Lumiere would not be afraid of heading straight to next year's Qipco 1000 Guineas without a prep race. The Mark Johnston-trained two-year-old is a general 8-1 shot for the fillies' Classic, having captured the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes on just her third start. With the Middleham handler's 2000 Guineas winner Mister Baileys and 1000 Guineas heroine Attraction both making their seasonal returns on the Rowley Mile, a similar path could be trodden by the daughter of Shamardal. Johnston's son and assistant, Charlie, said: "Lumiere has had a couple of days out in the field and is just winding down. "Nearer the time it will be up to Sheikh Mohammed and John Ferguson and the whole team to decide on plans. "We wouldn't be afraid of going straight to the Guineas, as that is what we did with Attraction and Mister Baileys. They both went to their big spring target on their first start. "But, like I say, we will discuss those things with the people that matter nearer the time."
