Ma Jacks Hill strikes on hurdling debut Market principals Los Blanco (4/5 fav) and Ma Jacks Hill (11/4) were at the head of affairs throughout in the Gowran Park Racing Club Maiden Hurdle and it was the latter who came out on top on his first start over flights. The pair had a good tussle in the home straight and jumped the last together before Jack Kennedy's mount, wearing a tongue-tie for the first time, found a little more to score by three-parts of a length for Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud. The son of Famous Name was an expensive purchase after winning a Dromahane point-to-point for Ciaran Fennessy and was placed in a couple of bumpers last season. Kennedy said:- “We always liked him at home but he was disappointing in bumpers. “He got his wind done and that probably brought out improvement in him. He’ll be a nicer horse on nicer ground as well. “He’s a fine big galloping horse, so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards with him.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
