Mares the plan for Apple's Jade Owner Michael O'Leary insists Apple's Jade "belongs" in the OLBG.com Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. The Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old won the race last March and that seems her likely destination once more following a campaign that includes two Grade One victories already. O'Leary told At The Races: "She's a mare and she belongs in the Mares' Hurdle. "I'd be very happy to win the Mares' Hurdle and if you've a horse good enough to win the Mares' Hurdle, you go and win the Mares' Hurdle. "I couldn't care less about the Stayers' and she's not fast enough to win the Champion so let her go and win the Mares', I think that's where she'll go. "It's a team effort so Eddie (O'Leary, racing manager) and Gordon will decide, but I see no reason not to run her in the Mares' Hurdle."
